J.B. Systems is a privately owned company formed in 1986 and specialises in the design and manufacture of panels and control systems for use in hazardous areas (EExd & EExe) Customers include many well known names namely British Gas, British Petroleum, Compair, Texaco, Exxon Mobil, Conoco, Hamworthy Combustion, National Power as well as many overseas clients.

J.B Systems Limited offers a fully customised explosion proof and safe area panel assembly and wiring service as well as a variety of explosion proof and safe area terminal/junction boxes with a wide variation of terminal sizes and configurations. Panels and systems are produced either from customer designs or designs produced on the company's in house CAD facilities.

These range from:
· DOL/reversing and star delta starters
· Local control stations containing lamps, pushbuttons, ammeters and switches
· Ignition/detection systems.
· Compressor control panels.
· Logic control panels using relays or small PLC’s

Panels can be custom built to meet material and painting specifications.

All hazardous area enclosures and terminal boxes comply with current ATEX requirements and are supplied with the relevant Declarations of Conformity and Hazardous area Certificates when requested

For EExd, EEx de and safe area enclosures lamps, pushbuttons, switches and isolators can be mounted on the door or lid. Windows of 50mm or 90mm diameter are also available for analogue and digital meters. Larger square or rectangular windows up to 398mm x 214mm can also be supplied for annunciators or equipment with large or detailed readouts.

Materials of enclosure and terminal junction boxes vary from, marine grade aluminium, painted steel, stainless steel, aluminium, polyamide, polyester and GRP.
Component and enclosure identification labels in stainless steel, traffolyte or flexible laminate can be supplied. Cable glands for hazardous and safe area applications in brass, stainless steel or plated brass are available to order in metric and NPT.

Other Products – Flame monitoring

The IRIS 500 flame monitoring systems is a sophisticated solid state electronic unit for detecting the presence of flame in industrial gas, oil and coal fired boilers. Typical applications are found in the petro/chemical and power generation industries. The IRIS Uniscan is a simpler version of the IRIS 500 and is for use on process heaters. The IRIS 600 is a flame ionisation relay and is intended for use with a flame rod to detect gas pilot flames. All products can be supplied in safe or hazardous area enclosures.

The company is the U.K distributor for TESI high energy fixed and portable igniters, which are manufactured in Milan. The company holds stocks of high energy ignition systems. Typical applications are in the industrial sector where reliable ignition of pilot flames is important. Hazardous area versions are also available on request.
